Big Victory for Press Club of Long Island

no comment

The Press Club of Long Island came to the aid of a news cameraman who was wrongfully arrested at a crime scene by a Suffolk County Police Sergeant this week.

After forwarding a statement to Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer, he issued a return statement saying the arrest would be overturned and the cameraman was not found of any wrong doing on his part.

no comment

While attending the media sessions for this year’s Empire Challenge all-star football game, run by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, Sachem Patch caught up with Esiason and chatted about the former NFL quarterback’s championship loss to Sachem in 1978.

Esiason blamed a rib injury for his weak performance, which consisted of going 4-for-11 passing for just 33 yards. Famously, East Islip only crossed the 50-yard line once in the contest, which Sachem won, 15-0. It was Sachem’s second of three straight Suffolk County titles.
