Northwestern beat Maryland, 8-7, in this year’s NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse national championship at Stony Brook’s Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Northwestern’s eight goals were all scored by Long Island natives, including four from Shannon Smith, New York’s all-time leader in points and goals and a West Babylon alum.
Vaccaro was there to host a live blog for Lacrosse Magazine, file a sidebar for LaxMagazine.com and write notebooks and sidebars for various Patch.com sites.
