Hofstra Hosts NCAA Lax Quarterfinals

no comment

Hofstra University was host to the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinals this year. The two games were packed with interesting story lines. No. 6 Denver upset No. 3 Hopkins and No. 7 Virginia did the same to No. 2 Cornell.

It was a historic day as Virginia head coach Dom Starsia captured career win No. 327 making him the winningest head coach in Division I men’s lacrosse history.

Hofstra also set an attendance record for James M. Shuart Stadium with 13,447 spectators.

Vaccaro was there to capture the magic.

The arrival of Ohio State and Kentucky to the NCAA East Regional Semifinals at Newark’s Prudential Center meant at least one Patch native was playing in the game.

Vaccaro wrote a story from the angle of Ohio State’s Dallas Lauderdale, a senior, who played his final NCAA game when the Buckeyes lost to Kentucky, 62-60.
